Iran to play Qatar soccer friendly on Dec. 31

TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- Iran are scheduled to meet Qatar in a soccer friendly match in Doha on Dec. 31, Tehran Times daily reported on Wednesday.

The match will also be a warm-up for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup slated for Jan. 5-Feb. 1 in the United Arab Emirates.

The Iranian national soccer team will hold a training camp at the Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar ahead of the Asian Cup.

Iran will also play two friendly matches with Lebanon and Palestine in Doha.

Carlos Queiroz's team tied Venezuela 1-1 in Doha on Nov. 20.

Iran have been drawn along with Iraq, Yemen and Vietnam in Group D of the Asian Cup. Enditem
