KABUL, July 23 (Xinhua) -- At least 14 people were killed and over 60 wounded on Sunday after a suicide bomber detonated his suicide vest near Kabul airport shortly after convoy of First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum passed by the area, Kabul police said Monday.

Dostum, after nearly 14 months living in Turkey and receiving medical treatment and recovery, returned home amid tight security on Sunday but his supporters believed he was living in exile.

Those among the killed were two women, two traffic police officers as well as several security forces and civilians. Several of the wounded remained in critical condition.

The Islamic State (IS) terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The blast came days after the UN mission in the country announced that 1,690 civilians were killed and over 3,430 others injured in conflict-related incidents and terrorist attacks in the first half of the year.

According to the report, suicide attacks and improvised explosive device (IED) blasts were the leading cause of civilian deaths and injuries over the period.

The following is a listing of major bomb attacks in Kabul since early this year.

In two separate suicide bomb attacks on July 15 and June 11 against Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development workers in Dar-ul-Aman neighborhood, 23 employees of the ministry were killed and 48 others wounded.

On June 4, 14 people, including seven religious scholars, were killed and 17 people injured when a suicide bomber attacked a religious scholars meeting in western Kabul.

The meeting issued a Fatwa or religious decree against suicide attacks, war and conflict.

On May 30, one police and 10 IS gunmen were killed and five police wounded after the gunmen attacked the Interior Ministry building in fortified area near Kabul airport.

Seven people died and 17 others wounded in terrorist attacks against two separate police stations in Kabul in western and central Kabul on May 9.

On April 30, 25 people, including nine journalists, were killed and 45 others wounded in two back-to-back suicide bombings in Shash Darak diplomatic district for which the IS group claimed responsibility.

On April 22, 60 civilians, including 23 women and nine children, lost their lives and 129 others injured when an IS suicide bomber struck an ID card distribution center which also acted as a voter registration office in western Kabul.

Thirty-one civilians died and 65 wounded when an IS terrorist struck New Year celebration in Jamal Mina locality in the city on March 21.

On Feb. 24, a national intelligence officer and two civilians were killed and six injured in a suicide bombing in Shash Darak since the officer tried to intercept the terrorist from entering the diplomatic enclave.

On Jan. 29, 11 Afghan national army soldiers died and 16 others wounded after five armed IS members attacked 1st Battalion of Army's 111 Capital Division in western Kabul.

A member of Taliban insurgent group exploded an explosive-laden ambulance near an old Interior Ministry building, peace council office and a nearby hospital, killing 103 people and injuring 235 others on Jan. 28.

On Jan. 20, five Taliban attacked a luxury Kabul Intercontinental Hotel, leaving 42 people, including 17 foreigners, dead and injured 14 others.

On Jan. 4, 13 policemen were killed and 16 police personnel and two civilians injured after a suicide bomber targeted a protest in Microryan-e-Chahar neighborhood.
